Pakistan will NOT change IF...

I am a person with lots of love for my homeland Pakistan. It’s the country where I was born, educated and turned in to, what I am today. It gave me life and identity and everything a human can wish for, but on the other hand I have a deepest urge for a change, a good change in my country. Sometimes I think that Pakistan will change. One day it will become a developed country, but when I type “Pakistan” in Google search bar, I can only see news of firing incidents and bomb blasts. My today’s blog post is about the possibilities of changing Pakistan. In this case I am sliding down to be a pessimist.
Pakistan dint turned out to be the true picture of Quaid’s dream. In 1947, when “Pakistan” means the “clean land” emerged as free country, Quaid-e-Azam Mohummad Ali Jinnah aimed it to be a country where religious minorities will be protected. Moreover it will be a country where social welfare will be ensured, but so far we have not seen any signs of those agendas. Today we see Pakistan sinking into oceans of problems, far away from its maker’s brightest dreams.
Pakistan failed to ensure the security of religious minorities. Weather it’s the killing of Hazara community in Quetta, or Ismailies of Karachi or the helpless Christians. They were killed brutally. Hazara nation, a small ethnic and Shia community suffered from 1400 causalities since 2004. The plan of killing these innocent people in massive bomb blasts and daily target killing continues till date. Even 4 Hazaras were killed two days before.  Hazara nation protests at every incident. Their sit-in protest in 2013, along the dead bodies of their loved ones beside them became so popular that they are now recognised as the “most peaceful protestors” of the country. Religious minorities feel insecure in Pakistan, especially the Hazaras. There was a time when Pakistan was a heaven, no trace of sectarian violence ever. In Quetta, Hazaras were free to roam around anywhere, but now they are restricted to Alamdar road. They are living in the shadow of fear, sensing the presence of an unknown monster. Until or unless the protection of religious minorities is not assured, Pakistan will never change. The killings will continue, bringing a bad name for the country.
My dearest homeland Pakistan always took education for granted. Due to enmity with India we spend more on military and less on education. Money is not a big problem but a bad education system is. The rich people’s children get education in English. They become a perfect “replica” of white men. They are not able to speak Urdu, their very own national language. On the other hand poor’s children are taught in schools with no furniture. Their books are in Urdu. The first time they study English is at graduate level, causing difficulties for those poor souls. The poor of the poorest send their children to Madrasa (A religious school). This difference of education system gives three classes of citizens. First the ruling class, second the servants and third, the ones searching their way to heaven. An equal system of quality education with balanced syllabus of humanity can give Pakistan a bright future. Pakistan will not change if it has unjust system of education. The current education system is a insult to the poor class. Pakistan will not change if it will follow the same formula of education system that white men introduced for training a good servant.
The flaw of judiciary system is another problem in Pakistan. Culprits are caught but due to long process of judicial system and lack of proofs, they skip the punishment. Political and foreign interferences also affect the steps of justice. Severe punishments should be given; even they should be made public. If a person is ensured that if he commits crime, he will be punished then he will not give a second thought of committing a crime. Pakistan will definitely not change if its judiciary system fails to punish criminals.
Last but not the least, corruption is the root cause of every problem in Pakistan. Corruption in Police, government, executive and judiciary makes it horrible to follow a transparent system in Pakistan. Weather its terrorism or unemployment or the politics, it’s the corruption that is the mother of all crimes. People should be given a lifestyle and moral training to avoid this evil practice. Doing corruption in any means should be considered as treason to the nation.
Besides all its systematic disorders Pakistan is a lovely country. Its people are generous and hospitable. They have the potential to change Pakistan but will they ever do that? Will they capture the killers of 1400 Hazaras and thousands of other Pakistanis who were killed in bomb blasts and firing incidents? Will religious minorities in Pakistan feel safe ever? . These are the questions, without their answers Pakistan will never change.
