Quetta Citizens and Bleeding Hazaras

Quetta was known for its inter faith harmony. There were Hindus,Shia,Sunni , Christians mingled in this multi coloured city having punjabis , Hazaras , Pathans , balochs living together. I remember the days when we used to play with our non hazara friends.
There were days when no body search was conducted while entering in each others areas.
Saryab road which is now the slaughter route for Hazaras once used to be a ordinary road where Hazaras used to travel like any common citizen. Our uncle was a officer in govt and allotted a big
Bungalow situated at saryab road. All our family used to visit them monthly and enjoyed the hospitality by people out there. Those were golden times of Quetta. After 8 June , 2003 when 8 hazara
Cadets were killed on saryab road everything changed, for Hazaras specially.
My uncle migrated to overseas and we never seen saryab road and those hospitable Saryab Road residents.
Chain of targeted killings started and continues till 16 February , 2013 when Pakistan's history biggest bomb bast occurred in hazara town market claiming 100 plus innocent lives and leaving numerous badly injured hazara nation men.The response was massive. Shia hazara nation hold sit in protest in Quetta demanding army control.Shias and humanists all over Pakistan and world showed solidarity with Shia Hazara by protesting in their respective cities.
In the mean while I was thinking about my fellow citizens in Quetta. I was thinking about the impact of hazara target killing on Quetta citizens. What might be they thinking ? What are their views on sit in protest ?
I inquired some of my all time pals and people online asking their views. I am thankful for their corporation and support.
The views expressed by Quetta fellow citizens were hopeful and really sympathetic and supportive towards Hazaras. Actually their demands and needs regarding Quetta are same as that of victimised Hazaras.Tahira Magsi the IR student , candidate for CSS examination and one of our good friends, a Baloch told me that, "Honestly i really don't know why its happening to innocent Hazara but i am totally against the on-going genocide. All human beings have equal share on the world assets.Sit-in must not be over until ful security is granted and culprits are not hanged.Even though Army is around for few weeks but this is not the permanent solution! Qta will continue to bleed because no concrete steps are taken and still there are breaches that demand urgent attention."
Saima Khajjak MBA student at SBKWU, a Pakhtoon said that,"We are with hazara community,we can't bear this injustice with innocent people,as a muslim we r all brothers and we support the dharna of hazara community and we want army in Quetta ,plz plz stop this injustice with Hazaras."
While Saira BB the bright Computer professional, teacher and a Baloch expressed her feelings and said ,"I am feeling very bad for innocent hazaras, i denounce this act of brutality. Our govt needs to protect all communities of Balochistan. Previously only balochis were targeted but now they are targeting Hazara community. I have no words to condole with Hazaras."
Rashda Khalique a computer professional, social mobilizer and a Baluch also expressed her deepest feelings about Hazaras in following words," we are really sorry for hazara nation . The whole atmosphere at Quetta is full of sorrow and grief . We are with them and fully support them. May Allah grant mercy on our city."
Ramzia Changezi a human rights activist just promised to send her poetry expressing her feelings upon Shia Hazara Genocide. As soon as I receive her poetry we will soon publish it here.
The supportive views of Quetta people and seeing the pulse of the nation, the solidarity , the mindful media and daring Supreme Court, I am sure we will be united and alert against all evil forces. Peace loving people of Pakistan will defeat those terrorists one day and then no nation will bleed even Hazaras will be Safe.
